Sustained Funding: The World Vision Foundation
Most of World Vision's funding comes from government and private donors (relief programs and sponsorship programs). However, in many cases, a foundation can serve the needs of specific donors better than an association. For this reason, the World Vision Foundation was founded in 2009. Its purpose is to offer sustained support for our programs in order to reach more children and enhance their chances for a brighter future.
Giving Children a Better Future: Today and Tomorrow
The challenges of poverty are manifold and complex. Manifold are also the measures to be undertaken in order to combat poverty and its effects. The World Vision Foundation supports three areas:
- Development programs: millions of children need food security, clean drinking water, basic education, access to health services etc. This is the main focus of World Vision's work, supported by the Foundation.
- Developmental advocacy and learning: Global learning and developmental advocacy both aim at people, politicians and power brokers to create the create the kind of societies of the future in which children can flourish. This is another concern of the Foundation.
- Research and innovation: Tomorrow's world needs innovative ideas. Hence, the Foundation also supports research and innovation in order to create a better impact of our programs and a sustained development in the future.
