World Vision International Research
The World Vision Institute has assumed a facilitating role on behalf of World Vision International’s Evaluation & Research Team (E&R Team). A number of World Vision offices (WV International, WV U.S., WV Canada, WV Australia, WV U.K., WV Germany etc.) are actively engaged in research designed to improve program impact and to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of World Vision's humanitarian and development programs.
The E&R Team seeks to ensure that research carried out by the partnership
- is in tune with World Vision’s overall strategy
- is evidenced-based, meeting rigorous scientific standards
- meets high ethical standards
- is designed to improve programs
- is adequately resourced
- is published in recognized scientific journals
- Mapping out recent and current research activities
- Defining different types of research to be carried out by World Vision researchers
- Defining standards and procedures for each type of research
- Discussing/facilitating research priorities
- Defining how research carried out is being used and by whom and for what reasons
- Disseminating research findings
- Ensuring high-quality research is being published
- Facilitating research co-operation between offices
- Identifying possible duplication of research and facilitating discussion to avoid duplication
- Setting up international research ethics committee
- Developing ethical standards for research, especially in working with children
- Exploring partnerships with other research institutes/universities
