Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Global challenges such as poverty, food security, health, energy supply and climate change can only be met by concerted efforts of many stakeholders. The limits of growth and ressources require innovative solutions for the world's social and global challenges. At the center of our practice-oriented approach to strategic management research will be the relative new field of social innovation.

On the basis of a systematic innovation management that was introduced by World Vision Germany in 2009, and taking into account the vast practical experience of the World Vision Partnership with its presence in almost 100 countries, the World Vision Institute has created the Center for Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship through which we are actively engaging ourselves in this discussion of social innovation and social entrepreneurship.

How can social innovations not only be created but also, within the context of economic and social enterprise, be implemented? That is the research question that must be responded to.
